Hi friends! Is anyone else a tarot/oracle deck hoarder? I have so many decks and I wanted to make a post where I linked all of the decks I have and talked about why I love them (or don’t). I also linked resources for learning tarot.

Tarot Decks
This is such a beautiful deck! The images are absolutely gorgeous and resonate so deeply with me. This is actually an 83-card tarot deck because there are both feminine and masculine versions of the Emperor and each King (which I love). I will be telling EVERYONE to get this deck. It is so incredible.
This is my “most loved” deck. I use it the most often for myself and for clients because the images are very inclusive and convey the messages well. This is a great deck for beginners because the images on the cards really help you understand the meanings. It is definitely one of my favorites and I always have it in my bag.
This is a beautiful deck for beginner’s as well because the images are mostly just gender-bended versions of Pamela Colman Smith’s designs. If you do not resonate with the images from the Smith Rider-Waite tarot, then you will most likely resonate with the images in this deck. It is a very feminine deck and I love the glossy feel of the cards. I highly recommend!
This deck has beautiful fairytale imagery and it contains 4 different “Lovers” cards for inclusivity. Therefore, it has 81 cards instead of the regular 78 cards. I love this deck! I use it mainly for love/self-love readings. If you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I highly recommend this deck!
This deck is so beautiful, but I do not recommend it for beginners. The names of the suits in this deck have been renamed: Emotions (cups), Inspiration (wands), Voices (swords), and Materials (pentacles). It is a very poetic deck and I tend to reach for it when I am experiencing creative blocks and am in need of inspiration. It is a beautiful deck.
This deck is incredible! It contains the astrology on each card, and the images are incredibly inclusive and beautiful. The only downsides to this deck are that the cards are massive and the images on the backs are not reversible so you can tell if the cards have been pulled upright or reversed (when they are face down).
This is a deck that I recommend to everyone because it is so helpful for love readings! The images humanize each card and makes them easier to interpret. I love this deck! The guidebook is probably one of the best guidebooks ever written and contains messages that change depending on what you’re asking about (love, a break-up, being single, etc.)
I know so many people who love this deck, but I personally do not resonate much with this deck. Instead of court cards, these cards are represented by family members: Father of cups, Mother of cups, daughter/son, etc. I don’t really like that and I also do not like how dark some of the cards are. However, there are beautiful images of animals and the guidebook is very thorough.
This deck is so much fun! I pull cards from this deck when I want to go deeper with some of these archetypes and watch movies or read synopses of movies for more inspiration for my own readings. I do not often use it for clients (unless they specifically ask). I think this deck is great for movie buffs (it contains forrest gump, 5th element, sound of music, the godfather, shawshank redemption, and more)
This popular deck is by Matt Hughes and the style is from the art nouveau movement. It is a beautiful 80-card deck (2 additional major arcana cards) with gold foil stamping. However, it is extremely heteronormative and every single person in the deck is white. I prefer decks that are inclusive/diverse and show people of different genders, races, identities, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
This deck by Shaheen Miro and Theresa Reed is absolutely stunning! The uncommon tarot has beautiful butterflies on the backs, gorgeous colorful imagery, and shiny silver edges. It is very easy to shuffle (one of the easiest that I own), the guidebook is very thorough and the images are extremely diverse and multi-cultural. I think this deck is highly underrated and I highly recommend it!
This deck is advertised as the most hyped tarot cards worldwide and I wouldn’t doubt it. It’s gorgeous with rose gold edges and stunning imagery. It also comes with a 200 page guidebook that is incredibly thorough. The cards are significantly bigger than a normal-sized deck and you can tell if the card is upright/reversed, but this deck is definitely worth the hype in my opinion. It’s so unique!
My favorite part about this deck is the fact that the guidebook is written in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, and Mandarin. I had no idea that one of my goals would be to learn to read tarot in spanish, but this deck has instilled that goal in me. The death card is called Santa Muerte and the reversed meanings for each card are presented as “advice from the dead”. I love this deck!
13. Tarotorial Deck
This is THE BEST deck for beginners. It is a tutorial deck that is advertised as tarot flashcards. It contains written explanations of the upright and reversed meanings on the actual cards, along with astrological correlations. The only downside is that there are no images on the cards.
This is such an interesting deck! The artist is a photographer that created images based on his sleep paralysis dreams using photography and set design. It is a really cool indie deck, but most of the images are really dark, so I wouldn’t recommend it for an “everyday” deck.
This is such a cool concept for a deck! If you are familiar with the images from the Smith Rider-Waite Tarot, then this deck will probably interest you because it shows what happens a moment before the Smith rider-waite image.
16. After Tarot Deck
Similar to the before tarot deck, the After Tarot shows what happens a moment after the Smith Rider-Waite images.
Tarot Resources
1. Tarot: Question Everything by Lexi Hideko AKA @lightwands
This is an excellent resource for tarot readers and anyone who likes getting tarot readings. Lexi, AKA @lightwands lays out amazing tarot spreads and insightful questions that I personally would have never thought of. You won’t regret buying this!
2. Mindful Tarot by Lisa Freinkel Tishman
This is one of my favorite tarot resources EVER. It heavily influenced me and my practice. I highly recommend this book to every tarot reader. Read the whole thing cover to cover and watch your life change. I am not even kidding.
3. 78 Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack
This book influenced me in so many ways and it is a huge reason why I created my own way of reading the tarot, which is called Reflective Tarot. I read this book cover to cover at least once every few months. This is the first resource I ever found that does not view the tarot as predictive, but rather a tool for self-discovery and growth. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book for every tarot reader or aspiring tarot reader.
4. The Complete Illustrated Guide to Tarot by Rachel Pollack
This is such a FANTASTIC resource to have on your shelf. It has images from multiple different decks. This isn’t really a book to read from start to finish. It is a great tool for reference when trying to dig deeper with particular cards.
5. Guided Tarot for Seamless Readings by Stefanie Caponi
Hopefully this link works because the best part about this book is that you can get it from five below for $5! Not only is it cheap, but it is honestly the best guide to have on your shelf. It offers interpretations for general, love, career/finance, and spiritual guidance readings. It includes spreads and wonderful exercises that will help you learn to read tarot in no time.
6. Tarot Bible
This book has great descriptions of each card, as well as information about shuffling, spreads, and more. Again, this is not really a book to read from start to finish. I would use it more for reference. The best part of this book, in my opinion, are the key words and key phrases for each card. It is my personal belief that word association is the best way to learn/practice tarot meanings, and these key words are great places to start.
7. The Creative Tarot: A Modern Guide to an Inspired Life by Jessa Crispin
This book is one of my favorites because Jessa Crispin has a very interesting way of viewing the tarot as a way to help with your creativity and to help with inspiration. It is really good and I actually read every single page (that’s how good it is).
8. Tarot and the Tree of Life: Finding Everyday Wisdom in the Minor Arcana by Isabel Radow Kliegman
This is a wonderful resource about the minor arcana and the significance of numbers and court cards. I feel like oftentimes there is so much information about the major arcana and archetypes, but resources tend to skimp out on the minor arcana, so it can be difficult to understand. This book is great for going deeper with the minor arcana.
9. Tarot and the Archetypal Journey: The Jungian Path from Darkness to Light
This book is excellent for studying the major arcana and archetypes in general. Archetypes are symbols that are present in the human experience, or patterns that show up in every tradition, culture, religion, etc. This book is hefty and sometimes hard to get through because of how much detail there is, but it is an excellent resource that I think every tarot reader should consider having on their shelves.
10. Kitchen Table Tarot By Melissa Cynova
This is such a great book because Melissa breaks down hard-to-understand information in a very relatable way. It feels like you are listening to a super wise best friend talk to you about tarot. It is an excellent book for beginners and advanced readers alike.
11. Tarot for the Wild Soul & Podcast by Lindsay Mack
I absolutely ADORE Lindsay Mack. Their energy is so pure and genuine and I love the way they look at the tarot as medicine. I think Lindsay and I have very similar points of views and perspectives on many things and I highly suggest taking their courses, reading their blog posts, and listening to their podcast.
Oracle Decks
This is most definitely one of my favorite oracle decks. In readings, I will often ask about blockages that my client is experiencing and I will pull self-care cards to ask how to unblock this energy. I love this deck for collective readings (I use it quite often for tiktok/youtube readings). I really love it! I don’t think reading the guidebook is necessary when using this deck.
This is my favorite deck to use to theme readings. I will often pull these cards at the beginning of a reading as a representation of the energy of my client (myself) and/or the reading. Sometimes I will pull these cards for closing messages as well. There are 68 cards and they are all absolutely gorgeous. The guidebook is wonderful as well. I use this deck almost every single day.
3. Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Oracle
This is a very beautiful deck by Kim Krans (wild unknown tarot). The guidebook is split by element (water/earth/fire/air) and I really love the images of the animals. However, the guidebook does not have a table of contents that is easy to understand and there are also no words on the cards. I do not use it very often if I am being honest.
The archetypes oracle by Kim Krans is so interesting. If you are wanting to do deeper in shadow work and learning about archetypes, this deck is for you! I rarely use it for readings, but I constantly use it for shadow work. In fact, this deck is what I used for my 21 days of shadow work prompts video on youtube and tikok.
This is such a gorgeous deck by Rebecca Campbell. If you resonate with the terms lightworker, starseed, indigo/crystal child, etc., then you will love this deck. The images are stunning and the descriptions in the guidebook are absolutely beautiful. I use this deck quite often!
6. Believe in Your Own Magic Oracle
This is such a cute deck! I highly recommend this deck if you want an oracle deck that makes you feel confident. This is such a great oracle deck for those under the age of 18 as well because the guidebook is super easy to understand and the images are relatable.
7. Sacra Soul Intentions Oracle
This is an indie journaling oracle deck. Each card has a word on it in present tense, past tense, and future tense. For example: gain, gained, gaining. There are prompts for each version of the word such as: What would you like to gain? This deck is such a cool concept! I usually will pull one card at the end for something my client(s) can journal about.
This deck is great for those of you who are interested in astrology and/or the lunar cycle. It is a very popular deck and I highly recommend it. I use it quite often for personal readings as well as readings for clients.
This is wonderful deck for connecting to guides, deities, and your own divine feminine energy. I use this deck quite often for clients during messages from spirit guides/deities, and also for myself to connect with my own divine feminine energy. The guidebook is super thorough and I usually read from the book AND use my intuition because it is difficult to memorize historical information about these powerful divine feminines.
10. Begin: a storytelling deck
I have nothing but amazing things to say about this deck!! It is an indie deck and it’s absolutely STUNNING. The guidebook contains astrological associations, meditations, affirmations, journaling prompts, spreads and more. There are 72 unique cards that are all gorgeous. 10/10
This deck by Colette Baron-Reid is simply gorgeous. The illustrations are beautiful and the interpretations in the guidebook are incredible. The deck has amazing energy and I highly recommend it, especially if your reading style includes a lot of symbolism related to the elements.
12. Untold Truths of the Heart Oracle
This is a great indie deck that can help you use your intuition! There is no guidebook, but there are keywords and images on the cards that can help you divine the message.
This is another oracle deck that focuses on astrology. If you don’t know much about astrology, you will have to use the guidebook because the words and pictures do not really help. I do not use this deck often, but when I always learn a lot about astrology whenever I use it!
14. Postcards from Spirit Oracle
This deck is wonderful if you need a message from your spirit team, angels, and ancestors. The cards are postcards with letters from the universe. There is no guidebook because each card serves as the message. I love this deck for spirit guide messages!
This deck is full of beautiful messages from animals and elementals. The guidebook is wonderfully written and the cards are so gorgeous! I love using them for my personal readings and my clients have also appreciated the messages.
